What is Tap to Pay?
Tap to Pay makes it easier than ever to accept contactless donations for your cause by offering a fast and secure . It's available on iOS and Android and works with all of your GiveTap 'QR + Card Reader' campaigns.

Does my phone support Tap to Pay?
If you have an iPhone you will need an iPhone XS or later, running iOS 16.4 or later.
If you have an Android phone, your device will need to be running Android 11 or later. Please contact support@givetap.co.uk if you would like more information about supported devices.
How does it benefit me?
With Tap to Pay you can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments, right on your phone - from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets — no extra hardware required.
Can I still use my card reader?
Yes, you can use your Stripe BBPOS WisePad 3 with the GiveTap app or Tap to Pay. In the Settings menu of the app you can toggle between the different methods.
How easy is it to set up?
If you have a GiveTap account and a Stripe account, setting up Tap to Pay is quick and easy. Simply download the GiveTap Payments app from the App Store or Play Store, login and enable Tap to Pay in the Settings menu.
Is there a transaction limit?
There is no maximum transaction amount on contactless payments made using Tap to Pay on iPhone. In certain situations your donor will be asked to enter a PIN number on screen to confirm the payment. Contactless payments made using Android Tap to Pay have a transaction limit of £100. On both platforms there is no limit to the number of Tap to Pay transactions you can take.
What happens if a Tap to Pay payment fails?
If a Tap to Pay donation fails, you will be presented with a failure screen that describes the reason for failure and provides a fallback payment option of a QR code. Donors can scan the QR code to pay online via ApplePay, GPay or credit and debit card.

Stripe’s UK pricing can be seen here: https://stripe.com/en-gb/pricing. GiveTap’s platform fee is 2.5% on transactions processed through the GiveTap platform.
